"JJ's Arts Academy was set up in September 2006 and has gone from strength to strength. For many, this will be the start of your musical journey. This can be a short sight seeing tour or a path that lasts a lifetime and brings many opportunities your way – like it has for me.

For the babes in arms and toddlers, Lucy runs a 30 minute music session at Mr Biscuits, Market Walk on Tuesday 10.30am. At only £1, this is a wonderful way to introduce your little ones to music! For the 5-8 year olds, we have group singing and keyboard classes at both of our locations, Newton Abbot and Exeter. From 9 years old to adults, we offer Yamaha group keyboard, drums (Newton Abbot only), vocal and guitar (Newton Abbot only) lessons in our professional and well equipped studios. Bass guitar, flute and piano lessons are given 1:1 for all ages at all levels. We welcome students who have already studied their instrument and look forward to helping them to the next level. With music theory and diploma mentoring available for Levels 4 & 6, we are able to take musicians to a professional level without having the expense of University course fees.

Learning a musical instrument opens many doors and the professional teachers are also performers and encourage their students to perform as solo artists and in bands. Even our beginners get involved and get allocated a teacher mentor to help them learn the essential skills required when performing with others. JJ's Arts Academy students are active in the community and perform at ,any events boosting their confidence.

JJ's Arts Academy has examiner visits from Rockschool ensuring that our students can take their exams in familiar surroundings.

JJ's is now very proud to offer Recording facilities to solo artists through to bands lead by our Producer, Tom Rimmington. Music Technology tuition and qualifications are available from 2020 and this is an exciting addition to the JJ's Arts Academy portfolio.
