Rockband Intermediate
(Grade 5 - GCSE)

What happens?

Under the supervision of the JJ's Arts Academy teaching staff, students are put into Rockbands taking into consideration age, ability and music style preference.

6th, 7th, 9th April 2017

On the two day Bootcamp, students learn and rehearse a 15-20 minute set.  The songs are chosen by the students from a list put together by the JJ's Arts Academy team and cover all musical tastes.  In addition, they put together a promotional pack.  After the Bootcamp, bands perform to friends and family - an event that is informal, great fun and the audience are always amazed at how much is achieved in two days!

Check out what Phat Mongoose achieved after just two days!

April - June 2017

The bands rehearse for one hour per week with a JJ's Arts Academy Mentor.  The day and time for this weekly rehearsal is discussed on the Bootcamp.

(Please note that there is a £10 per hour fee for the rehearsal rooms during term time.  This is split between the band working out at approx £2 per week.)

3rd July 2017

Students perform a 15-20 minute set and present a promotional pack to an external examiner from Trinity College London.

4th July onwards

That is up to you!  We hope that the bands will continue with a view to performing throughout the year and progressing to their Grade 8 (A Level).
