My love for musical theatre and drama blossomed for the 14 years I attended and played huge role in my childhood and development of self-confidence.
During my time there I took part in various shows including; the chorus of the 'Pink Floyd tribute band' at The Princess theatre Torquay and 'Joseph and his technicolour dream coat', also at The Princess. The role I was most proud of playing was Adelaide in our rendition of 'Guys and Dolls'.
I took part in a West End masterclass at Pineapple dance studios in 2009, which was an amazing experience and definitely one I would recommend to others who wish to experience the world of musical theatre!
I also took part in our local village pantomime in Kingskerswell for 5 years from the age of 14, in the chorus at first and then more major roles in the last 3 years including 'Mother Goose and Aladdin'.
I took Drama for A Level at Newton Abbot college, where for our performances we did our own interpretation of 'Macbeth', 'Alice in Wonderland' and we performed a play we devised called 'Fused' which enabled us to all get A grades for our performance. I absolutely love Shakespeare! He is one of my favourite playwrights of all time! I love how his plays can be interpreted in ways that make them timeless. For our college we performed our rendition of 'Macbeth' for the Shakespeare festival at The Phoenix theatre where I played the role of 'Lady Macbeth'. I also played the role of 'Gertrude' in Hamlet at the same festival the previous year.
In 2013 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and was working full time at The Barn owl in Kingskerswell as the assistant manager and then holding general manager. This put a hold on any work within the musical industry. Within this role I passed an NVQ in team leadership and customer service in hospitality. After being there for almost 10 years, I felt like it was time for me to move on from this chapter and go back to doing what I love best...performing, and sharing my passion for the theatre with others.
